The basic section is enough for smaller characters or early planning. The full build is for protagonists, antagonists, love interests, rivals, mentors, viewpoint characters, and anyone carrying real story weight.

How to use this: answer only what helps. A walk-on character may need five lines. A central character may repay an hour of thought. The output uses your own notes, not AI generation.

A better starting point

Good characters are built from pressure

Wants create movement

A character who wants something gives the story direction. The want doesn’t have to be noble or tidy. It just needs to push them into action.

Fears create pressure

Fear gives the want a cost. It can make a simple decision difficult, sharpen a conversation, or force the character to protect the wrong thing.

Contradictions create life

Real people are rarely consistent. A contradiction gives you texture: the generous miser, the truthful liar, the rebel who longs to belong.
